Preparing students for direct entry to Year 1 of professionally accredited undergraduate degree in Architecture or Planning, Environment and Development at Queen's University Belfast.

On campus and online study options

  • This program is available to study either on campus or online – giving students the flexibility to choose what’s best for them.
  • If your student starts online and is then able to travel to the UK, they’ll be able to transfer to an on-campus program in January or March/April 2022. They’ll need to meet any visa requirements and demonstrate good attendance and performance during their studies online.
  • If your student applies for an Online Extended program, they’ll be offered an Online Academic English plus Online or on-campus academic pathway study plan. 

Key information

  • Progress to Year 1 of a professionally accredited undergraduate degree.
  • Prepare your art portfolio during the programme.
  • Learn from a qualified and highly experienced architect.
  • Develop self-evaluation skills through weekly informal critiques of work produced in class.
  • Learn in classes set up as workshops, and have the opportunity to draw and make detailed models.

Academic requirements

  • Completion of 12 years of schooling (or the local equivalent to meet the same standard) with good grades. All students must hold a GCSE grade 4/C Mathematics or equivalent.

English language entry requirements

  • 3 Terms: IELTS 5.0 (with a minimum of 5.0 in writing and no less than 4.5 in all other subskills) or equivalent.
