We will help you prepare for a career in the life sciences: think clinical or biomedical research, or other graduate programs in the allied health professions. Our faculty, world-respected biomedical research scientists, will provide you with a strong understanding of the cellular mechanisms underlying human physiology, genetics and disease.
  • We've been doing experiential learning in the sciences since before it was cool. And with guidance from our expert faculty, you'll take advantage of rich opportunities to investigate the basis for life. We will help you prepare for a career in the life sciences: think clinical or biomedical research, or other graduate programs in the allied health professions. You'll face challenges in this program as you learn the cellular mechanisms underlying human physiology, genetics and disease. You won't be alone. Our award-winning teachers — world-respected biomedical research scientists — will mentor you along the way.

Program Foundations

  • We created this program over a decade ago as a response to contributions and rapid advancement of molecular biology to the field of medicine. This degree will provide you a great foundation not only in the allied health professions, but also for careers in biomedical research.

Concentrations

  • Earn a BS in molecular biology and a Master of Science in biomolecular science by choosing one of these tracks:
  • Biomolecular Science Graduate Bridge Program, Human Disease (BS)
  • Biomolecular Science Graduate Bridge Program, Laboratory Research (BS)

Capstone Projects

  • No required capstone projects in the undergraduate program. However, students in our molecular science program may elect to complete a biomedical thesis project if they are enrolled in the Honors College.
  • A capstone project is required if a student elects to study in the Biomolecular Science Graduate Bridge Program.
