  • On this postgraduate short course, you will explore the key factors and considerations around strategic development and recruitment goals. This will enable you to deliver effective and efficient human resource management within your company.

You will delve into topics such as:

  • The foundations of human resource management theory and practice in a global context
  • The key aspects of delivering effective and efficient HRD strategies within local, national and international contexts
  • How national and international contexts shape diversity policies and practices within organisations
  • Alongside the specialist knowledge you gain, you will also improve your skills in communication, critical thinking and research. At the end of your course, you will have the opportunity to progress onto a Postgraduate Diploma or the full Masters.

  • We know that many people from non-traditional backgrounds would succeed on our courses! That’s why we offer two different entry routes, taking into account your prior work experience and relevant qualifications. You will also need to meet our English language requirements.
  • Additionally, you will need to pass your first assignment set within your two-week induction period of the course in order to continue with your studies.

Academic entry route

  • In order to satisfy the academic entry route requirements for our PG Cert International Human Resource Management, as a minimum you must have an undergraduate degree from an approved institution, equivalent to a UK Honours degree, or a relevant Level 6 professional qualification.

Work experience entry route

  • In order to satisfy the work experience entry route requirements for our PG Cert International Human Resource Management, as a minimum you must have at least five years’ senior level work experience in human resources.

English language requirements

  • As our courses are delivered in English, a high proficiency with English is required. If English is not your first language, your English ability should be equivalent to an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5. Don’t worry if you don’t hold an IELTS or equivalent qualification – we offer a free online English test to assess your proficiency.
  • You don’t need to prove your English ability if you are a national of, or have completed a qualification equivalent to a UK degree
  • The PG Cert International Human Resource Management is made up of the following modules and, upon completion, is equal to a total of 60 credits at Level 7.

Level 7 modules:

  • Global Resource and Talent Management (20 credits)
  • Strategic Human Resource Development (20 credits)
  • Diversity Management in a Global Economy (20 credits)

  • When paying for your undergraduate or postgraduate course up-front, we’ll offer you a discount of 10% for students starting their course in the 2020-21 academic year, and 5% for students starting their course in the 2021-22 academic year.

 Alumni discount

  • If you are a previous graduate with the University of Essex or University of Essex Online, we’ll award you a 10% alumni discount on your postgraduate tuition fees when you continue your studies to Masters level. This is only applicable to students studying online and does not apply to students studying on campus. 
  • The Alumni discount cannot be used in combination with the International scholarship. 

Scholarships

  • International scholarship (all courses) International students residing in specific regions outside of the UK may be eligible for a partial scholarship for our undergraduate and postgraduate online courses.
