This program prepares candidates to become specialists in the Information Technology needs of modern businesses, especially at the middle levels of organizations. . It is designed to meet the increasing demand in the work place for IT professionals with a wide knowledge of business management, technical skills and the capacity to offer support in the implementation of IT-based solutions in a business environment.
The course is structured with a focus on issues surrounding the development, implementation and management of Information Systems. Courses focusing on business systems management skills are included to address the need for a wider consideration of issues in business decision-making, and the relationship between business enterprises and Information Systems. One can take full time, evening, Saturday, or holiday mode of study.
The DIT programme aims to achieve the following objectives:
- To equip students with Practical skills to develop programs and systems as business solutions
- To develop a coherent and broad-based coverage of information systems and underlying technology to implement the systems in industry and business.
- To enhance confidence and the ability to evaluate business information systems requirements and develop solutions from model professional and technical perspectives.
- To ensure the students are equipped with problem solving skills and can adapt to a fast changing technological world.
- To prepare candidates for progression to higher levels of education notably to degree level.
