The PhD programme is offered in two modes – full-time and part-time. This programme is not offered in a distance learning mode. Hence, coursework, participation in various interactions, submission of progress reports through presentations etc. on a regular basis is mandatory during the programme.
- PhD full-time is for a minimum of 3 years and PhD part-time is for a minimum of 4 ½ years. Maximum duration in case of both the modes is 5 years. Amity encourages interdisciplinary research and exchange of ideas and knowledge in various related fields.
- As a research and innovation driven university, Amity University is committed to promoting research. Amity University Dubai, located in the international hub viz. Dubai, will draw senior researchers and scholars from different countries with state-of-the-art infrastructure and lab facilities on campus. The rich experience in research, international projects, patenting, case studies and other research initiatives at the Home campus will be made use of to promote a research culture. With the programme, we aim to generate inquisitiveness, provide intellectual freedom, promote self-development, and respond to academic challenges.

- Applicants with M. Tech / M.E. / M.S. qualification with a minimum of 60% marks or with minimum CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale or equivalent grade point average and with minimum of 60% aggregate in Xth, XIIth and B. Tech / B.E. will be considered eligible for admission to PhD programmes in Engineering and Technology.
