Take the most effective pathway to the University of Sydney. The University of Sydney Foundation Program (USFP) is a rigorous, focused program. It provides you with the training you need to succeed at Australia's most prestigious university.
We offer a range of start dates and programs throughout the year to suit your timing, your academic level and your planned university degree. The combined educational expertise of both the University of Sydney and Taylors College has been employed to create this foundation program.
Once enrolled with the University of Sydney Foundation Program, you will receive a conditional offer to a degree at the University of Sydney. All students must study English A and English B during the Foundation Program.
If your degree at the University has a University of Sydney prerequisite for Mathematics then you must study Mathematics during the Foundation Program.
Entry requirements for Taylors College Sydney
Taylors College has one over-riding Admissions Policy – we will only accept your application if your results indicate that you are able to pass the program.
Entry to the University of Sydney Foundation Program and High Achievers Preparation Program is for international students only. International students who are granted Australian permanent residency after accepting a place in the course may complete the USFP, but cannot be guaranteed entry to the University of Sydney under the conditions set down for international students.
COVID-19 English language requirements
To ensure your journey isn’t delayed, we are now accepting a wider range of English language tests along with our existing tests for entry to our courses.
New English tests accepted include:
University of Sydney Foundation Program
As a guide, applicants for the Intensive Foundation Program must have achieved superior grades in English and relevant academic subjects. Students applying for the Standard Foundation Program must have achieved at least average grades in English and relevant subjects. The Extended Foundation Program is designed for students who do not qualify for the Standard program, or who want to develop a more solid foundation in key subjects such as Mathematics or the Sciences. Forecast results are accepted where appropriate.
We are doing everything we can to make sure that your education isn’t impacted due to COVID-19. That’s why we will allow you to submit predicted or interim High School (or equivalent) results if your previous studies or academic qualifications have been impacted by COVID-19.
Because there is a chance your final official results won’t match the interim or predicted results when they become available, we have set slightly higher cut-offs for interim or predicted results should you wish to submit them to allow us to honour offers should your final official results not match the result submitted during COVID-19.
