- Throughout this online programme, you’ll gain awareness of topical healthcare subjects whilst starting to build links with contemporary healthcare problems and their interaction with business and management. You’ll also gain a fundamental understanding of management topics including finance, human resource management and business management.
- You will learn to recognise the key contemporary challenges associated with healthcare management, as well as how to communicate your ideas both orally and in the context of a written presentation.
Throughout this course, you’ll explore a broad range of topics including:
- The principles of management in delivering healthcare services.
- Exploring the factors that determine individual, group and population level health outcomes.
- The importance of leadership and teamwork in theory and practice.

- Upon completion of your CertHE Healthcare Management, we offer the opportunity for you to progress on to study for a full Bachelors degree (360 credits).

- We believe that education should be accessible for everyone. That’s why we offer an open entry route – meaning you don’t need any prior academic or work experience in order to start studying with us. You will also need to meet our English language requirements.
- You will need to pass your first assignment set within the first three weeks of the course in order to continue with your studies.
English language requirements
- As our courses are delivered in English, a high proficiency with English is required. If English is not your first language, your English ability should be equivalent to an IELTS (Academic) score of 6.0.
- Don’t worry if you don’t hold an IELTS or equivalent qualification – we offer a free online English test to assess your proficiency.
- You don’t need to prove your English ability if you are a national of, or have completed a qualification equivalent to a UK degree
- The CertHE Healthcare Management is made up of the following modules and, upon completion, is equal to a total of 120 credits.
Level 4 modules:
- Introduction to Healthcare Management (15 credits)
- Global Health (15 credits)
- Business and Management Skills (15 credits)
- Introduction to Finance (15 credits)
- Human Resource Management (15 credits)
- Health, Society & Public Policy (15 credits)
- Personal and Professional Development 1 (30 credits)
- Upon completion of your CertHE Healthcare Management, we offer the opportunity for you to progress on to study for a full Bachelors degree (360 credits).

- When paying for your undergraduate or postgraduate course up-front, we’ll offer you a discount of 10% for students starting their course in the 2020-21 academic year, and 5% for students starting their course in the 2021-22 academic year.
Alumni discount
- If you are a previous graduate with the University of Essex or University of Essex Online, we’ll award you a 10% alumni discount on your postgraduate tuition fees when you continue your studies to Masters level.
- This is only applicable to students studying online and does not apply to students studying on campus.
- The Alumni discount cannot be used in combination with the International scholarship.
