Leads to Year 1 of an undergraduate degree. Preparing students for direct entry to Year 1 of an undergraduate degree in a range of subjects such as Journalism, Law, Sociology and Psychology at City, University of London.

On campus and online study options

  • This program is available to study either on campus or online – giving students the flexibility to choose what’s best for them.
  • If your student starts online and is then able to travel to the UK, they’ll be able to transfer to an on-campus program in January or March/April 2022. They’ll need to meet any visa requirements and demonstrate good attendance and performance during their studies online.
  • If your student applies for an Online Extended program, they’ll be offered an Online Academic English plus Online or on-campus academic pathway study plan.

Key information

  • Opportunity to observe real court hearings and offer arguments for the judgement.
  • Apply legal knowledge to a scenario and come up with advice for a 'client'.
  • Participate in mock UN debates with classmates.
  • Improve the language skills students need for their degree and their career through the EAP module.
  • Build a career development portfolio as part of the assessment for the EAP module, demonstrating career motivations, employability skills and career-related experiences – and can be used to support internship and job applications.

Age requirement 16
Academic requirements

  • Completion of 12 years of schooling (or the local equivalent to meet the same standard) with good grades. Students intending to progress to Journalism or Law: Some previous familiarity with arts, humanities or social science subjects may be desirable.

English language entry requirements

  • 3 Terms: IELTS 5.5 (with a minimum of 5.0 in writing) or equivalent.

Extended Course Requirement
Age requirement 16
Academic requirements

  • Completion of 12 years of schooling (or the local equivalent to meet the same standard) with good grades. Students intending to progress to Journalism or Law: Some previous familiarity with arts, humanities or social science subjects may be desirable.

English language entry requirements

  • 4 Terms: IELTS 5.0 (with a minimum of 4.5 in writing) or equivalent.
  • A total of 120 credits must be earnt to successfully complete the pathway programme.
