This is a Research based Program.

Graduate courses at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics are offered in a large range of topics in mathematics, statistics, probability, optimization, and actuarial sciences.  The research interests of faculty members cover a broad spectrum of areas of theoretical and applied mathematics.

Program Specific Admission Requirements

Deadline for Fall: April 1

  • In order to be considered for financial assistance from the department or from the Faculty of Gradate Studies, all domestic and international students are advised to submit their completed application package online by April 1st.
  • Domestic candidates may submit applications beyond the April 1 deadline, however there is no guarantee they will be reviewed in time for funding considerations.

Note: Department will only review applications that are complete. Documents such as transcripts, English test scores and letters of recommendations must be submitted before an application can be reviewed.

  • 4 Year honours degree in a related field
  • Minimum TOEFL: IBT-83
  • Minimum IELTS: 6.5
  • Minimum Pearson: 65

Additional Requirements

  • Applicants must submit both undergraduate and Master's degree transcripts.
  • Applicants are required to complete a Research Interest Statement Form available from the Mathematics and Statistics webpage
