Having a professional and well-managed online presence has become an absolute necessity for a business to thrive in today’s economy. Trebas Institute’s Digital Marketing and Social Media program provides students with the necessary skills and experience to become specialists in developing and executing digital marketing strategies.

This newly-created program provides an in-depth understanding of topics such as online advertising and publicity, search engine optimization (SEO), analytics and data-driven decision-making, content development as well as social media strategy and management.  Students will learn how to analyze their clients’ digital marketing needs, provide auditing services to make necessary improvements and design and execute expertly-crafted marketing plans.
They will also be exposed to a number of different types of clients (e.g., businesses, charitable organizations, government agencies, influencers, celebrities, etc.) in order to increase their versatility and chances of success in the job market.

Skills and Competencies
The following is a list of some of the skills students will develop during the course of the program:

  • Effectively identify clients’ needs and develop the appropriate strategy/marketing plan
  • Develop an online public relations campaign with particular emphasis on using various social media platforms
  • Manage a client’s social media platforms to increase engagement and stimulate business
  • Develop a content strategy and use digital advertising tools to promote this
  • Update a client’s website and social media pages when there is a change in branding or new product or service launch
  • Understand and interpret digital metrics
  • Plan, execute, and analyze the results of digital advertising campaigns (using all of the essential platforms such as Google Ads and Facebook for Business)
  • Identify new online business opportunities

Under the provisions of section 4 of the College Education Regulations concerning the conditions of admission, a person who has received instruction considered sufficient by the college and meets any of the following conditions may be admitted to a program of studies leading to an Attestation of College Studies:

  • The person has interrupted his or her full-time studies or pursued full-time postsecondary studies for at least 2 consecutive terms or 1 school year;
  • The person is covered by an agreement entered into between the college and an employer or by a government program of studies;
  • The person has interrupted his or her full-time studies for one term and pursued full-time postsecondary studies for one term; or
  • The person holds a Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS/DEP).

Documents required for your admission:
All applications for admission must be accompanied by the following documents:

  • Completed application form
  • Non-refundable application fee of $50.00 and Admission fee of $200.00 ($250.00)
  • Birth certificate (certified copy)
  • Most recent academic transcript or diploma:
  • Issued by MES (Ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur), if a student in Quebec
  • Issued by the province or territory, if a student outside Quebec
  • Issued by the institution or state, if an international student
  • Any official documents issued outside Quebec must be a certified copy or the original. 

Documents written in language other than English or French must be accompanied by an official translation.

Term 1: 

In this term, students will learn how to effectively identify clients’ needs and develop the appropriate strategy/marketing plan, marketing fundamentals (e.g., how to perform a marketing audit, SWOT analysis, defining a target market, etc.) within the context of the digital space. You will also learn how to develop an online public relations campaign with particular emphasis on using various social media platforms, as well as how to develop a content strategy and use digital advertising tools to promote this.

Term 2: In this term, students will learn how to adapt online content to meet changes in branding or new product and/or services launches, how to assist clients in identifying new opportunities and improving client relations to stimulate business, how to create a professional digital marketing plan and understand the analytic tools used to measure performance as well as how to plan, execute, and analyze the results of digital advertising campaigns (using all of the essential platforms such as Google Ads and Facebook for Business).
