The major offers a comprehensive communication core that addresses the foundational skills necessary to work in a wide variety of areas including: Sports Communication, Media Production, Social Media Management, Journalism and Broadcasting, Public Relations, Corporate and Organizational Communication.

Practical experience that complements your coursework
In addition to professionally-focused coursework, communication majors put the skills they learn to use in on-campus experiences and internships.
On campus, communication majors have the opportunity to call games and work with the Trine Broadcasting Network. They can also gain experience working for the Sports Information, Marketing, or Admissions offices. Students interested in event promotion or journalism can participate in the HAC media team which provides media coverage for the Humanities Symposia, Drama Club productions, Book Night, and various events in the Jannen School.
