Our Certificate in Music Production for Games course is run in partnership with Pulse College and Windmill Lane Recording Studios and embraces learners from a variety of musical backgrounds.

Entry Requirements

  • Entry onto our programme is based on a course interview and achieving a minimum of:
  • 5x O6/H7s (O6 = 40 – 55% in a Leaving Certificate Ordinary subject / H7 = 30-40% in a Leaving Certificate Higher Level subject)
  • To include O6 or higher in Ordinary Leaving Certificate Maths
  • To include O6 or higher in Ordinary Leaving Certificate Language subject

All applicants are required to present for interview, and are expected to demonstrate the following:

  • A proven interest in music creation and music production (e.g. through recordings, portfolio, performance, etc.)
  • A basic understanding of musical keys, tempi and rhythmic notation
  • Knowledge of the basic use of computers at approximately ECDL level
  • Musical open-mindedness and a willingness to explore new musical ideas
  • A positive attitude and enthusiasm for the programme and the gaming field
  • Commitment to learning, both directed and independent
  • Self-organisation skills. 
  • All candidates applying for the CMPG programme are required to have prior music ability, experience and training. This may be evidenced in a variety of forms: recordings of performances, manuscripts of compositions, membership of orchestras/ ensembles, DVDs of music creation for image etc.

General Fee Information 

  • An Academic Administration Fee of EUR250.00 and a 2% Learner Protection Charge is applicable each academic year in addition to the fees quoted below. The fees below relate to Year 1 fees only.
