Developed in collaboration with Parkview Health, the region’s largest medical provider, the health informatics concentration equips you with data science skills, preparing you for any job that is heavy in data visualization or big data.
The experience: Hands-on learning with real-world problems
With courses including network security and data mining, you will benefit from hands-on learning experiences. Students have participated in a capstone experience that includes working with a local business to create a solution for a real-world problem.
The result: Work for medical or data companies
The health informatics concentration prepares you for jobs ranging from medical record coding to using biosensors and technology to monitor health. Graduates who have this degree and concentration can work as a data scientist or a health informatics employee at a large hospital, or even a data manager.
CSIT graduates are also prepared for prestigious graduate schools and can pursue a variety of programs, including information and management science, information science, biomedical informatics, information security, information technology, and technical law.
